Lifetime Achievement Award to Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Yahya Awang

His Royal Highness Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, graciously presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Yahya Awang.

Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Yahya Awang performed two coronary artery bypass graft surgeries for Tun Mahathir Mohamad, the first in 1989 and the second in 2007.

In 1992, he helped establish and subsequently led the National Heart Institute of Malaysia (Institut Jantung Negara, IJN). Five years later, in 1997, he performed Malaysia's first heart transplant at the institute.
